Budget Holidays – Taking A Las Vegas Vacation On A Budget!

On Saturday, Aug. 31, 9:30-10:45 a.m., All About Yoga is offering a class at no cost. It is a level two beginner’s class that will explore the area between a beginning and intermediate yoga practice.

“You will be guided safely through new poses with focus on structure and alignment and learn how to link asanas or poses with breath in an exploration of vinyasa,” states the studio website.

Las Vegas Women’s Clothing is as eclectic as the visitors who come with dreams of winning jackpots. Gamblers and entertainment junkies from every corner of the globe are attracted to this city, and they bring with them not just an eye for the bright lights, but for personal style too.

Preliminary competitions begin on Tuesday, January 11th at 8:00 p.m. in the Planet Hollywood Theater for the Performing Arts. Tickets are available through ticketmaster for the three preliminary nights. On Friday, January 14th, Miss America 2010 Caressa Cameron, 45 past Miss Americas and Miss America Teen representatives will be participating in the DSW “Show Us Your Shoes” Parade outside the Paris Las vegas in the Arc di Triomphe. It begins at noon and is open to the public.

Ever consider eating at the Vegas shopping mall centers or at the hotel food courts? Whether its eating on-the-go, or a casual sit-down you’re looking for, there are lots of options for every pocketbook. From kid-friendly hot dogs, pizza, sandwiches, Mexican or Chinese, there’s a wide variety sure to please. Popular food courts can be found at Planet Hollywood, Caesar’s Palace, Flamingo, fashion show mall, and Showcase Mall. You can also head a bit off The Strip to the Boulevard, or my favorite, Town Square Las Vegas. The conveniences of off-The-Strip mall dining with the family are invaluable; no traffic, easy parking, and the children’s area to let the kids run freely about.

Visiting Las vegas this summer could be a budget friendly alternative to those wanting to vacation closer to home, but be prepared for the temperatures; it is after all the middle of a desert. While the temperature can soar to well over 100 degrees during the day, nights get very cool, often a shock of cold after the earlier heat. Swimming pools are a wonderful way for those who want a tan to spend a day in Vegas, but arm yourself with sunscreen and water, so you don’t spend your night looking like a lobster in steaming misery.

There is also a bit of free entertainment to go along with your window shopping. At the west end of the Forum Shops is the Festival Fountain, where you can listen in on a discussion between Apollo, Bacchus, Pluto and Venus – while a laser light show accents these larger than life animatronic figures. They have the same discussion every hour during the day.
