Bumpdate | 27 Weeks

How Far Along:  27 weeks (last week of the 2nd trimester!)
Size of Baby:  Cucumber
Gender:  Boy!
Maternity Clothes:  Comfort is key around here.  Dresses are still my main go-to.  I wore this one the other day - perfect for a hot summer day!
Symptoms:  Still struggling with heartburn every day, but overall I still feel really good.  I'm still able to make it through most nights without getting up to pee (SCORE!) and I'm totally in love with my pregnancy pillow (which the hubs has nicknamed "The Alien").  One symptom I'm BUMMED I haven't gotten?  Thicker hair!
Best Moments:  We have a final game plan for the nursery!  We've known for a while that we are doing a "vintage aviation" theme and we've really just been picking things up here over the past few months, but we finally have everything we need to start getting it set up.  Since we JUST painted the room right before I found out I was pregnant and it is a nice neutral grey we are going to leave it as is and instead do an open-closet system with the inside painted a light aqua/blue.  I'm hoping Jay and I can tackle the painting this weekend.  Stay tuned for pics!
Looking Forward To:  Moving into the 3rd trimester next week!  Everyone says the 3rd trimester is when you start to get really uncomfortable and have a hard time sleeping.  As a girl who NEEDS her 8 hours (and then some) a night, I know this is going to be tough for me HOWEVER it just means we are that much closer to meeting our little boy.  I'm starting to feel less nervous and more and more excited as the due date gets closer.  27 weeks down, 13 more to go!

  1. Try taking Prilosec everyday, it will help with the heartburn. It was my lifesaver! You look wonderful!

  6. The dress is very cute, I'm sure they are the easiest to wear (and re-wear) now.

  7. Oh I feel you about heartburn. Not to rain on your parade, but it usually gets worse. Try to find foods that are not greasy and do not eat late. I found that if I don't eat after 7pm I sleep much better. Also, having a can of seltzer water after each meals saves me!
You look so cute with your little bump!

  12. Yay for making it to the third tri! I'm already having to get up to pee at night, which is very unusual for me. Here's hoping you stay as comfortable as possible for the next 13 weeks!
