An Exciting Announcement!

Some of you may have seen the big announcement on Instagram over the weekend – The hubs and I are expecting our first little one in October!  I am officially in my second trimester (yay!) but I really have been so fortunate that this first trimester has been a breeze (thank you, baby)!  I knowwww this is a fashion blog, but I am going to start sprinkling in some baby content here and there.  It is going to be such a big part of my life (no pun intended – I’m looking at you, future baby bump) over the coming months and I can’t wait to share on all of the fun with you all!  So here, without further ado, is my first ever BUMPDATE and a few pictures I've taken along the way so far!
How far along:  13 weeks!
Size of the baby:  A peach
Gender:  TBD, well for you guys anyway – the Hubs and I actually know the gender already!  If you're like me, you're probably thinking "wait I thought you didn't find out until ~20 weeks??"  We were given the option to do a Panorama test, which I had never even heard of until my doctor told me about it.  In simple terms, there is fetal DNA floating around in your blood by the time you are ~9 weeks along.  With a non-invasive blood draw, they are able to tell the gender of your baby!  Who knew?!
I'm a planner by nature so finding out the gender was never even a question.  We knew we wanted to find out, we just had to decide HOW we wanted to find out.  The Hubs and I chatted it over and decided we wanted to discover the gender when it was just the two of us.  We asked the doctor's office to send the results to us in the mail, but we really didn't know when it would arrive since the results from the Panorama test can take 2-3 weeks to come in.  Those few weeks were the longest of my life and we seriously must have checked the mail 100 times.  After 15 excruciating days, we got the letter in the mail and opened it together.  I'm so glad we had this private and very special moment just the two of us.  All our friends and family are super anxious to know what we are having but we are making them wait a little longer ;)  We are throwing a little gender reveal party at our house in a couple of weeks and I am so excited!  I have been a busy bee crafting up a storm, so I will definitely be sharing all of the details with you soon!
Maternity clothes: Nothing yet (besides bras – do those count?)  I am still fitting in all of my normal clothes, but I am looking forward to shopping for the bump when it starts growing a little more.
Craving:  Nothing in particular
Symptoms:  Prego brain like whoa!  And maybe a little moodiness (not sure if that can be blamed on the baby though)
Looking forward to:  Revealing the gender to our friends and family in a few short weeks!
Best moments:  Finding out the gender of Baby A and getting to see our little munchkin moving around during our ultrasound on Friday.  It was by far the coolest thing I have ever experienced!

Thanks so much to everyone who has already expressed their congratulations on Instagram - I appreciate all of your sweet words and can't wait to take you along on my new journey!

  5. I am so very happy for you and your husband, Danielle. Such great news. We found the gender pretty early on, also. But are the little week numbers you made (in baby blue) a giveaway for the baby gender? Maybe, maybe not, I cannot wait to see how you style the bump - I am sure it will be awesome. And keep the baby posts coming.

    1. Haha, no I bought the little banner before we knew the gender - it's supposed to be like teal/green (gender neutral colors are so hard to find!!!!) Thank you :)
